Jewellery Care
9ct Gold and Sterling Silver jewellery is durable but can still be delicate. Signs of wear such as scratches and dents are normal. They are part of each pieces story, showing your jewellery has been loved and worn.
To help protect your jewellery keep it as dry as possible. If it does get wet, dry with a soft cloth. Do not leave your jewellery in a steamy environment or leave to sit in water.
Do not wear your jewellery when in the gym, exercising, cleaning, gardening or during any water based activity.
Perfume, chlorine, cleaning products, bleach, chemicals, salt water, hair and skin care can all have a detrimental effect on metals, pearls and gemstones.
Make your jewellery the last thing you put on, after perfume and lotions have dried. Avoid spraying perfume directly onto your jewellery.
All of this will help protect your jewellery and keep its shine, protect any gemstones and prevent metal from tarnishing.
When not being worn store your jewellery individually in its original box to avoid damage or tangling. If you wear necklaces or bracelets layered, separate each chain during wear to prevent the chains becoming tight or knotted and tangled. Be mindful of very fine chain in this scenario.
If you would like to clean your Bird jewellery we recommend a microfibre or polishing cloth to gently polish.
Please take care, when you receive your Bird jewellery, to keep it safe and unworn until you are sure it is the one for you. We will only be able to accept it back in the condition you have received it in.

Ring Sizes
We use UK ring sizing. Ring sizing varies from company to company and can be confusing! If you have an existing ring of similar width to the ring you would like to order, you can take a measurement of the internal diameter of this ring to work out your size. Bear in mind a wider band will feel smaller and tighter than a thinner band. A local jewellery store may also help to measure your size.
Your ring needs to feel comfortable while being worn. It needs to able to slip on over your knuckle but not be so loose that it can slip off by itself. This is important with our Three Hearts Ring for example, the heaviest of our rings.
Try to measure your finger when it is not too cold or too hot as this can shrink or increase its size. Be sure which hand you would like to wear your ring on as our hands are different sizes.
This is an approximate conversion guide.
